GIFT DAY PRESENTATION DRAWS MASSIVE SUPPORT AS NATION HONOURS HIS MAJESTY’S 40 YEARS ON THE THRONE AND 58TH BIRTHDAY

Press Release

LOZITHA — A strong display of gratitude, unity and national pride marked the Gift Day Presentation (Tetfulo) at Mandvulo Grand Hall in Lozitha on Saturday, 18 April 2026, as the nation honoured His Majesty King Mswati III’s 40 years on the throne and 58th birthday.

Individuals, companies and organised groups turned out in large numbers to present gifts in appreciation of His Majesty’s leadership over the past four decades. These ranged from fruits, vegetables and electronics to tractors, a car, cattle and cash.

In total, 251 cattle were presented, while cash contributions from individuals and companies reached E18,230,836.00.

The scale and variety of the gifts made the occasion more than a ceremonial event. It stood as a powerful symbol of national appreciation and collective support for the King’s leadership.

Addressing the nation, His Majesty expressed sincere gratitude to all who attended and contributed, describing the occasion as a reflection of God’s grace. He thanked emaSwati for their generosity and noted that the overwhelming support would help ensure the success of the upcoming double celebration.

His Majesty stressed that the commemoration is not only about the King, but about the entire nation.

“This celebration belongs to all emaSwati,” he said, calling for unity as the country marks this important milestone.

He added that the gifts received would help ensure that those attending the celebrations share in the joy of the occasion, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness that continues to define the nation.

Reflecting on national progress, His Majesty said Eswatini has grown significantly over the years, citing visible advances in infrastructure, development programmes and the country’s growing participation in continental and global frameworks.

He referenced both the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, positioning Eswatini’s progress within broader efforts toward inclusive growth and sustainable development.

In this context, the Gift Day Presentation carried both cultural and national significance. It not only upheld tradition through the presentation of gifts to the throne, but also reflected a nation growing in confidence, unity and development.

The atmosphere at Mandvulo Hall was celebratory, with the venue filled to capacity and strong participation from across society.

For many, the volume and value of the gifts also pointed to the country’s economic progress and its growing capacity to contribute and celebrate at scale.

As the wider programme for His Majesty’s 40 years on the throne and 58th birthday continues, the Gift Day Presentation has already set a powerful tone of gratitude, unity and national pride.

The message from Lozitha was clear: this was not only a celebration of leadership, but of a nation, its journey and its shared future.
