24 April 2026 Declared Public Holiday for His Majesty King Mswati III’s 58th Birthday and 40th Anniversary on the Throne

The Minister of Home Affairs, HRH Princess Lindiwe, has officially announced Friday, 24 April 2026, as a public holiday in honour of the 58th Birthday of His Majesty King Mswati III and the 40th anniversary of His Majesty’s ascension to the throne.

The announcement marks a significant national moment as the Kingdom of Eswatini prepares to celebrate both His Majesty’s birthday and four decades of leadership, service and national stewardship.

Members of the public are advised that although His Majesty’s birthday falls on Sunday, 19 April 2026, the public holiday will instead be observed on Friday, 24 April 2026.

The Ministry has further clarified that Monday, 20 April 2026, will remain a normal working day.

The public holiday will provide the nation with an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate His Majesty’s 40 years on the throne, a reign that has shaped Eswatini’s journey across generations.
